Solomon's first birthday!

Well, Chris thinks that there is something wrong with me, and maybe there is. I am sorry that I love to have themes for everything. So, the theme for Solomon's birthday was fishing. He loves his little magnetic fishing pole so I thought...why not have a fish party. It was alot of fun and he loved it. Thank you again to my amazing husband who hand crafted the cupcake boats and the origami koi fish on the table. Thank you to Deseree' the best Aunt ever for the tres leches, the fish plates and for helping fold the awesome newspaper cups. Candice thanks for taking some pictures for me with I was still running around like a chicken with her head cut off.

Solomon's family party

You might also think I am nuts because I usually give my kids two parties. One for everyone and one for family. What?? Birthdays are big for me! Thanks must go out to Tops Friendly Market for their "free cake for the first bday".

Virginia

Chris had an externship with the orthodontic department at VCU so we spent a couple days in Richmond. We explored the bath temperature water and the sweet children's museum. We also saw Robin Hood the movie in an old-time playhouse. It was a pretty fun stay. After Richmond we were lucky enough to be invited to Norfolk with the Boekwegs to visit Linda and David. It was sooooo much fun. The beach was great aside from the horrible jelly fish and the really scary sting ray. We also went to the Zoo and the Azalea Gardens. It was wickedly hot, thankfully most outdoor attractions had some sort of waterpark to cool down in. It was really interesting to see where Grandpa Paul grew up. The last night we went to Virginia Beach to ride some "real" waves. Thankfully, Candice had the great idea of renting the pedal car, because that was probably the best part of the trip.
